To identify and respond to the unmet needs of the community in the Horse Creek Valley Area of Aiken County, South Carolina in the name of Jesus Christ.
Catholic Charities of SC at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Center's (OLVCC) food pantry is still open. We are serving our community in the Horse Creek Valley (ACPSD area 3), on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 am until 12 pm (taking in the last client at 11:45). Because of COVID - 19, we have changed the way we operate for food distribution. In order to keep staff, volunteers and clients involved safe and healthy, we have implemented new safety procedures. We hope to be of assistance to individuals and families who are being affected by the current situation.
CAROLYN “ Little Joch” as she affectionately has known is our volunteer spotlight. OLVCC always held a very special place in Carolyn’s heart. Her’s is a servant’s heart: that a true Daughter of Charity.
Shout-Out to Pastor Wayne Cheselka and his wife; Joy from Midland Valley Church of Nazarene for donating time, talent and treasure and repairing the hallway at Vincent Bldg. on May 23.
GLOVERVILLE—Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Center was a hive of activity on a recent Wednesday morning, as it is on most mornings. Read More at Catholic Miscellany
Local schools held canned food drives for OLVCC. Gloverville Elementary donated 394 canned goods. The school had a friendly competition to see who could raise the most items and third came in first place. Hooray! Special thanks to their guidance counselor Ms. Ashley Stallings for motivating the kids to serve their community. Langley Bath Clearwater Middle donated a total of 990 canned goods. We are grateful for all the children and their families, with your support we are able to help families in the Valley.
Thank you, Mr. Robert Eble Jr.! We want to express our gratitude to our donors and partners from AREVA MOX that for more than 12 years helped Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Center by sponsoring children for the Christmas Gift Program, and raised funds during their golf tournaments for the needs of our programs. Thank you for always bringing joy and hope to all the families we serve: and for supporting us with your talent, treasure and time. We pray to the Lord that you'll be blessed abundantly for your generosity.
The youth from St. Mary's Catholic Disciples Camp came over to Our Lady of the Valley to help with cleaning the outside of the Center building as well as the pantry's refrigerators, and did some gardening in the circle where the statue of Our Lady is located.
We receive a check from Joan LaBone, Vice-president of CWA, and from Jeannie Malanowski, Chairman of the CWA Card Party. They select two charities each year to donate to. We were blessed with their donation.
